One of the top concerns for virtually every computer user is security. Most of us wouldn’t think of leaving our system to fend for itself without the aid of a good security program. As you might expect, the increase in the need for security has led to an increase in the number of rogue programs that seek to exploit our concerns. Rogue antivirus programs are designed to persuade you that there are security risks that need to be resolved in your system. The only solution, then, is to purchase this software. Rogues like System Tool, though, are neither able to scan your computer nor resolve threats.
What is System Tool?
The sole purpose of rogue antivirus programs is not to provide security for your computer; instead, their goal is only to convince you that there are serious threats to your system so you will purchase the full version of the product. To do this, System Tool launches a campaign of pop-ups and false security scan results. Users are urged to buy the full program, which, unfortunately, does not protect against threats. Nor does it remove the source of any issues you could be experiencing.
System Tool is a newer addition to the System Security family of rogue antivirus programs and is associated with Security Tool, also known as SecurityTool. Its preferred mode of transmission is via Trojan, and it is typically linked to false Adobe Flash updates, as well as those of other readers.
System Tool in Your Computer
System Tool depends on its generic yet safe-sounding name and its ability to mimic warnings from legitimate security programs. Like virtually all rogue antivirus programs, this one relies on pop-up warnings and false scan results in order to persuade you of system instability. You may see an alert similar to the following:
System Tool Warning
Intercepting programs that may compromise your private [sic] and harm your system have been detected on your PC.
Click here to remove them immediately with System Tool.
Each time you start your computer, you are also starting System Tool. It launches into a false scan. Remember, this is an attempt to create the illusion of security problems. It cannot really scan your computer, and all warnings it creates are fabrications.
Rogue antivirus programs impair overall performance and can leave your machine open to real security risks. For this reason, it is important to take immediate steps to remove System Tool from your computer.
